Priscilla Anne Slaughter
March 9, 1926 - June 16, 2009

Priscilla Anne Slaughter, 83, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Mrs. Slaughter was born March 9, 1926, in Salina, the daughter of Dr. R.E. Cheney and the former Emily Maninger. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Poppy’s gift shop.

She graduated from the University of Kansas, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

She was a member of Christ Cathedral and active with the Salina Community Theater, Friends of the Library, Salina Arts Center, St. John’s Hospital Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels.

Mrs. Slaughter was preceded in death by her husband, Loran Slaughter; and sister, Mary Jarvis. She is survived by her four children, Tom Slaughter and wife Pam, of Summit, N.J., Jerry Slaughter, of Lawrence, Mary Kelly Johnson and husband Alan, of Topeka, and Sallie Slaughter, of Salina; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Christ Cathedral, 138 S. Eighth, Salina 67401. Inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
