Hal Patrick "Pat" Smith, 83, of Smolan, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born Feb. 9, 1926, in West Hope, N.D., to Hal and Jorgina Smith. He worked in the elevator and construction business after being in the Navy. He served in World War II. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; a brother, Jim Smith; a sister, Kathleen and Bob Rockstadt; children and spouses, Hal "Bill" and Kathy Smith, Sharon Leeper, Sherry and Don Sheffield, and foster daughter, Ruth Maltby; grandchildren and spouses, Brandee and Eric Adam, Hal "Kelly" Smith and DeCelia Fraser, Kylee Smith, Christopher Liotet, Kari Leeper, Edward Leeper, Joel Sheffield, Patrick Sheffield, Rachel Maltby, Grace Maltby and Chad Stann; and great-grandchildren, Katie, Karter, Karee and Kelsee Adam, Hal "Ryddyk" Smith, Isaiah and Gabriella Smith, Angela Leeper, Edward Leeper and three Sheffield children; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Private funeral services will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. |
