Esther M. Steinle
November 10, 1930 - May 26, 2009

Esther M. Steinle, 78, of Salina, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009. She was born Nov. 10, 1930, the daughter of Edward and Myra Larsen. She worked as receptionist and bookkeeper for Steve’s Refrigeration and Heating and later worked in food service at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina. She was a volunteer for Hawthorne School and Sacred Heart Cathedral as a C.C.D. class instructor.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, in 2000; daughter, Therersa Ann, in 1965; five brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include three sons, Clair and Keith, of Salina, and Wil, of Wichita; two daughters, Regina Hendrickson and Karen Humphries, both of Salina; one brother, Steve Larsen; two sisters, Agnes Stamm, of Valley Center, and Rose Thomas, of Abilene; nine grandchildren, Shawn, Niki, Mike, Theresa, Mitchelle, Courtney, Arielle, Chris and Korey; and one great-grandson, Landon.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina, with a vigil at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 1, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, followed by burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial gifts are to the Lupus Foundation, Kansas Chapter, Saline County Dialysis Unit or Esther’s memorial tree fund.
