Mildred “Millie” Wilson, 92, of Salina, died Monday, June 22, 2009. She was born June 29, 1916, in Danville, Ill., to William and Martha May (Gibson) Shafer. She worked at St. John’s Hospital and the National Bank of America. She attended both Sacred Heart Cathedral and St. John’s Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at the Leisure Years Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Albert M. Bane; her second husband, Arthur D. Wilson; a daughter, Linn Redelsperger; and a grandson, Gary Bane. Survivors include a son, Mike Bane, of Salina; two daughters, Martha Newmeier, of Clarksville, Ark., and Janet Cheatum, of Salina; four stepdaughters, Mary Alice Jolley, of Marion, Barbara Debold, of Stanfield, Ariz., Jane A. Rogge, of Salina, and Emma Lou Day, of Brea, Calif.; six grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren. A scriptural rosary service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Ryan Mortuary. Private burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina. There will be no visitation. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, is in charge of arrangements. |
