Isabel C. Riggs Wolf, 89, Salina, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Isabel was born Jan. 6, 1920 in Paragould, AR, the daughter of Asa and Capitola (Mitchell) Hendrix. She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk with various businesses. After she retired she worked in the Foster Grandparent Program for 12 years as a teacher’s aid. She went to the Whitehouse, and attended a breakfast with First Lady Barbara Bush, where she received an award for her service. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Headley, Harvey Lee Riggs and Joe Wolf and two sisters, Geraldine Burkhammer and Melba Cooper. Survivors include a son, Evan Riggs of Wichita; three daughters, Audrey Kroneberger of Salina, Bonnie Bruce of Wichita and Leola Hamm of Versilles, MO; a sister, Trudie Shields of Santa Ana, CA; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Private family burial will be in the Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Wichita. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas or Dignity Care Home, Salina. |
