James D. Coddington
July 14, 1933 - August 15, 2010

James D. "Jim" Coddington, 77, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at his residence in Salina. Mr. Coddington was born James Donald Coddington July 14, 1933, in Cloud County, the son of David Irvin and Florence Myrtle (Wrench) Coddington.

He was a retired Police Officer for the Salina Police Department, serving 17 years. He then was a partner with his brother in C and C Soup and Salad at Santa Fe and Walnut in Salina for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Ann, of the home; two daughters, Connie Pounds and husband Von, of Larned, and Penny Thompson and husband Steve, of Salina; one brother, Bill, of Ponca City, Okla.; one sister, Josephine Miller, of Smolan; his grandchildren and spouses, Megan and Mike McElroy, Nicole and Brett Haithcock, Jenny and Andy Hutchinson, Adam and Ashley Barlow-Thompson, and Carli Thompson; and his great-grandchildren, Luke McElroy and Grace, Drew and Bryce Hutchinson.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401, with the Rev. Tom Reid officiating. Cremation has been chosen.
