Freeman L. Dooley, 71, of Salina, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. He was born April 16, 1938, in Canton, Ga., to Ben Edgar and Azilee Cleo (Ingram) Dooley. He moved to Salina two years ago from Jonesboro, Ga. He was a welder and worked in apartment maintenance. He loved Little League sports, football, baseball, bowling and his family. On June 14, 1967, he married Darlene Minard in Atlanta, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of the home; two daughters, Teresa Binns, of Winder, Ga., and Dawn Russo, of Salina; a son, Gary Minard, of Douglasville, Ga.; a sister, Jeanell McClung, of Marietta, Ga.; and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Lena, Sarah, Justin, Malachi and Matthew. Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Heartland Worship Center, 118 S. Eighth St., Salina 67401. Inurnment will be at a later date in Bethesda Cemetery, Canton. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or Sunflower Adult Day Services, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401. |
