Vida I. Moses
October 22, 1927 - January 8, 2010

Vida I. Moses, 82, of Salina, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010. She was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Goodland to Edward and Estella (Sherwood) Schwendener.

In 1949, she married Richard E. Moses in Salina. In addition to Salina, she lived in Mesa, Ariz., Tulsa, Okla., and Oklahoma City for 30 years.

She was the office manager for the Wells Discount Store, Salina, and was the bookkeeper for the McCullough Company in Scottsdale, Ariz. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Salina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard E. Moses, in 2007; a son, Rick Moses, in 2001; and a sister, Ruth Kreuzer. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Konzem, of Salina, and Janet Moody of Mesa; a brother, Donald Schwendener, of Goodland; two sisters, Esther Malmstrom, of Topeka, and twin, Verda Simms, of Easton, Pa.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation and the reception of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 Thursday evening at Ryan Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal, Salina, with the Rev. Patrick Broz officiating, followed by burial in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center or CAPS (Child Advocacy and Parental Services), both in Salina. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401, is handling arrangements.
