Henry H. Spaeny Jr., 79, of Salina, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Lake Point, Rose Hill, Kan. He was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Manhattan, Kan., to Henry H. Spaeny Sr. and Emily Elizabeth (Disney) Spaeny. He served in the United States Air Force. On Dec. 4, 1952, he married Bessie Marie Sisson in Salina. He lived most of his life in Salina. He worked as a wool presser for the Wardrobe Cleaners, Salina. Later, he was employed as a salesman for Anderson Brothers, Gamble-Robinson Co. and Food Services of America, all of Salina. He retired in 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David James Spaeny, in 2010. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Marie, of the home; daughter, Sheryl Sigwing and husband Chris, of Douglass, Kan.; brother, John Spaeny Sr. and wife Becky, of Assaria, Kan.; and two sisters, Betty Brady and husband Lawrence and Helen Jenkins, all of Salina. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at the mortuary, with Rev. Paul Long officiating. Burial will in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Salina. |
