Carla Gustin Obituary

Carla May Gustin, age 74, died unexpectedly, but peacefully, at home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Carla was born in Salina, KS., on October, 7, 1947, to Rosa and Clyde Turner, where she spent most of her life. She was married to Fred Gustin for 47 years. They had two daughters and a son.

After graduating from Central High School, Carla attended cosmetology school. In addition, Carla worked for USD 305 in food service for 37 years. Carla looked forward to seeing the children every day, and she made lifelong friends while working for the district.

A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Carla always put family first. She was a selfless caregiver to all. Her interests included spending quality time with family and friends. She loved to travel and was a New Yorker at heart. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

Carla is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Turner andher husband, Fred Gustin. Survivors include: mother, Rosa Turner, sister, Nadine Webster and husband Melvin, brother, Danny and wife Judy, daughter, Missy Lechtenberger and husband Darius, daughter, Teresa Barnes and husband Jon, and son, Travis Gustin. Carla has five grandchildren including, Gus and Cal Lechtenberger, and Dylan, Chloe and Carson Barnes.

Services will be held Saturday, November 13, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina at 11 a.m. with a rosary at 10:30 a.m.
