Christina A. Creighton Turner, 84, passed away November 19, 2022. She was born December 8, 1937 in Centerville, Kansas to Eva Shafer and Roy Bowman. On December 18, 1955 she married John Creighton they had 4 children together before his death. On June 24, 1969 she was married to Robert Turner who had 3 children, together they had one child.
She attended secretarial school in Kansas City. She also attended Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas. She was a Pastors wife in numerous churches for 30 years. She spent most of her life as a homemaker but did have several jobs outside the home as well.
She enjoyed needle crafts, sewing, painting and wrote poetry. She was a strong woman of faith and could often be found reading her Bible,
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Creighton and Robert Turner; son, Randy Turner; grandsons, Michael and JJ Carlson; and two brothers.
Christina is survived by sons, John (Robin) Creighton, and Rick Turner; daughters, Janet (Gary) Carlson, Joyce (Keith) Pohl, Joan (Larry) Newingham, Rebecca Jill Turner, and Roberta Turner; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; brothers, Everett and Keith Bowman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be at Ryan Mortuary, Monday November 21, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Salina, KS on Tuesday November 22 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.
