Deanna June Sommerfeld

Deanna June Sommerfeld, 55, of Brookville, KS, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025. She was born in Tescott, KS, on December 16, 1969, to Glen Minneman Jr. and Marcia Minneman (Robbins).

June was an incredibly kind, generous, and fiercely loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She would never hesitate to give her last dollar so that someone in need wouldn’t go without. She was a survivor. Through peaks and valleys, darkness, and light, she always has a bright smile and loving words. If the world felt cold, you’d never have to ask her for a warm hug and boisterous laugh.

In a meeting of fate, Mark and June found themselves on opposite sides of the cash register after 40 years of separation. Within months, their souls had become inseparable, and they built something together that would follow them into the next life. Her life was a constant celebration. She was quick to give advice and guide you in the right direction. She could learn anyone how to fish, and the next adventure was just around the corner. She was our comfort, and she will never be forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Marcia Minneman, and her brother Christopher Minneman.

She is survived by her Husband, Mark Sommerfeld; sons, Quinton (Melina) Bjornstad and David (Andrea) Mayer; grandchildren, Liam, Aiyani, Kylo, Ava, Anthony, Andrew, Abbi, and an unborn grandson; sister, Ginger Eubank; nieces and nephews, Traci, Michelle, Gabriel, Kurtis, Duane, and Skye; and Tiera Sten and Olivia Husted.

A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St., Salina, KS Burial will take place at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the family in care of Ryan Mortuary 137 N 8th St., Salina, KS.
