Delores Ann Zurfluh, 89, of Salina, passed away on March 25, 2026. She was born on February 2, 1937, in Washington, KS. Delores was raised by Jacob William and Arlene (Bender) Reier.
Delores attended and graduated from Washington High School. She later attended Cloud County Community College and graduated from K-State with a bachelor’s degree. Delores married Raymond Lee Zurfluh on July 21, 1957. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Agenda and later a member of the First United Methodist Church in Salina. She currently is a member of Salina Church of Christ.
Delores was a second-grade teacher at North Central Grade School in Haddam for 25 years. She was also a Hospice of Salina volunteer, a United Methodist Church officer and Sunday school teacher, a church camp counselor, a member of the UMW Circle, and was a leadership training for Christ Youth Volunteer.
Delores loved her family and devoted herself to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, attending as many of their activities as possible.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Zurfluh; her parents, Jacob William Reier Sr. and Arlene (Bender) Reier; her brothers, Jacob William Reier Jr. and Donald Dean Reier; her daughter, Debra Lynn Richecky; her granddaughter, Ashley Hope James; and her sons-in-law, Dwight Lee Richecky, Alfonso Chavez III, and Jimmie Lee James.
She is survived by her daughters, Rae Ann Chavez of Salina, KS, and Kathy Kay James of Salina, KS; her son, Scott Douglas Zurfluh (Donna) of Longmont, CO; her grandchildren, Jaime Falleson of Dallas, TX, Lacy Paredes (Adam) of Wichita, KS, Jeffrey Richecky (Amy) of Hays, KS, Michelle Chavez (Shane) of Salina, KS, Alfonso Chavez (Kate) of Ruskin, FL, Raymond James (Paidge) of Salina, KS, Robert James (Abigail) of Minneapolis, KS, Marissa Schumacher (Luke) of Poncha Springs, CO, and Tanner Zurfluh (MacKenzie) of Dacono, CO; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Salina Church of Christ in Salina, KS, followed by burial at Manning-Agenda Cemetery in Agenda, KS.
