Dennis Dean Chaput

Dennis Dean Chaput, 90, died May 26, 2021. He was born Mar 9, 1931 in Aurora, KS the son of Leon R. Chaput and Amelia Emma (Dandurand) Chaput. Dean served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 70 years. He married the former Gladys June Blackwell on August 7, 1952. Dean had worked for Lee Hardware for 32 years as a Salesman and in charge of the order desk and 12 years at Sunflower Bank where he was Assnt VP & Security officer.

Dean is preceded in death by a brother, George.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gladys; his 5 sons, Dennis (Sharon), Granger, IN, Tom, (Dorothy), Manhattan, Ken (Becky), Wichita, Mike (Kerry), Salina, and Mark (Kathy), Salina; and his daughter, Susie (Dave) Adams, Columbia, MO. Dean has 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak, Salina, the Rev. Keith Weber officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary from 4 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 3rd where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 pm.

Memorials are suggested to the church.
