Donna Lea Godsey, 82, of Salina, Kan., passed away on June 1, 2025. She was born on April 22, 1943, in Scott City, Kansas, to Orlie and Bertha (Thomas) Paynter.
In 1972, Donna married Jerry Godsey. Together, they built a loving home and shared many years of marriage.
Donna was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s lives. Family gatherings and everyday moments meant a lot to her.
She was active in the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, going on casino trips, and traveling on cruises with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlie and Bertha Paynter; her son, Scott Tubach; her sister, Darlene Bisnett; and her brothers, Olin, Dwight, Bill, and Dan Paynter.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Godsey; her daughter, Nola (David) Schettler; her sons, Ron (Suzie) Godsey, Chuck (Gloria) Godsey, and Glen (Tiffany) Godsey; her brother, Gary Paynter; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
