Helen R. (Herrington) Tewes

On January 26, 2021, Helen R. Tewes, 91, of Salina, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior. She was born in Kanapolis, KS to LM and Helen Herrington. After high school, Helen graduated from Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, KS.

She married Victor Horejsi on March 3, 1956 who passed away on February 2, 1967. Together they raised two sons: Jack and DJ. On October 16, 1976, she married Harvey Tewes who passed away on August 16, 2019. She was a long time member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Salina, and active member of the LWML.

Survivors include Jack (Mary) Horejsi, Lexington, SC; DJ (Barb) Horejsi, Wichita, KS; Neil (Diane) Tewes, Prescott, AZ; Anita (Jim) Willoughby, South Jordan, UT; Dwight (Liz) Tewes, Durango, CO; eight grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and siblings, Norman (Laurel) Herrington; Mary Jane Vondra; and Bill (Sharon) Herrington.

Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 111 W Magnolia Rd. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salina Rescue Mission, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, KS 67401.
