Jacqueline "Jackie" J. Pennington, 81, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving children.
Jackie was born on August 3, 1943, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Estella Vogt. On March 20, 1962, she married the love of her life, Dr. Richard Pennington. Together, they were blessed with four children, who were the center of her world.
A talented oil painter, Jackie created numerous beautiful works of art that her family cherishes. She was also an active member of the Salina Women’s Bowling Team, where she made lasting friendships and memories. She had lifelong friends whom she deeply cherished.
Jackie is survived by her children: Lisa (Jim) Passmore, Kelly (Bob) Lathrop, Todd (Shelly) Pennington, and Dr. Brett Pennington; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Pennington; her mother, Estella Vogt; her siblings; and her daughter-in-law, Christy Pennington.
Jackie will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her artistic spirit, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 E Beloit Ave, Salina, Kansas. Following the service, inurnment will take place at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
