Jean Ellen Holtslander, 92, passed away on January 11, 2024, in Salina, Ks. She was born on October 21,1931, to Joseph and Libby (Rehor) Krahl in Smith County, Ks. Jean had one brother, Vernon Zane Krahl of Salina, Ks. 3 children, Marcia Reif (Vic) of Osborne, Ks, Sandra Petitjean (Dan) of Assaria, Ks, and Dan Holtslander (Rhonda) of Whitewright, Tx.  5 grandchildren, Dr Sean Reif ((Jin) of Thornton, Colo, Scott Holtslander (Katie) of Carrollton, Tx,  Lacy Walker (Scott) of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Erin Kelley (Derrick) of Eudora, Ks, Ashley Braaksma (Brandon) of Sheldon, Iowa. 10 great grandchildren, Jordyn Reif Burnette, Madison Reif, Will Holtslander, Luke Holtslander, Briana Walker, Madison Walker, Declan Kelley, Olivia Kelley, Daniel Braaksma, Ava Braaksma. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, BJ Holtslander, on October 28, 2005.

It was Jean’s wishes that the immediate family gather last July to celebrate her life while she was still living. Jean wanted to be cremated and to have a private, gravesite burial of her ashes at Sumner Cemetery, Alton, Ks.

Memorials are suggested to Osborne United Methodist Church, Alton United Methodist Church, Osborne Public Carnegie Library, or Leaves of Lineage (Osborne Co Genealogical Historical Society, Inc.) and may be sent in care of Ryan Mortuary.
