Jennie R. (Armstrong) Shaver-George

Jennie R. (Armstrong) Shaver-George, of Salina, Kansas, passed away November 17, 2022.  Jennie was born December 28, 1929 in Gypsum, Kansas, to Robert Armstrong and Ruth (Mortimer) Armstrong.  She was united in marriage to Dale Gene Shaver on November 28, 1948.

Jennie was the second oldest of 10 children.  You could always catch Jennie in the kitchen baking up some cinnamon rolls and cooking great meals for her family.  Jennie raised 5 children and worked as a cook for the Ell-Saline School District for many years.

Jennie is survived by her children, Kathy Reynolds, Sandra Overton (Joe), Richard Shaver (Margaret), Dennis Shaver (Connie) and George Shaver (Christine).

Grandchildren:  Amy Larson (Michael), Shane Somers (Tricia), Ryan Somers (Melissa), Pamela Somers-Alberico (David), Lauren Kirmer (Kade), Drew Shaver, Seth Shaver, Dale Shaver, Lindsay Ramirez (Alex), Emily Shaver and Megan Shaver.

Great Grandchildren: Jordan Somers, Gavin Somers, Breanna Hargis, Madison Hargis, Kennedy Somers, Shane Alberico, Shelby Alberico, Bodhi Alberico, Ella Ramirez, Jude Ramirez, Rose Ramirez, Logan Kirmer, Kray Kirmer and Landyn Kirmer.

Siblings: Betty Harden, Charlene Walker, Robert Armstrong and Joe Armstrong.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Dale Shaver; her husband of 9 years, Tom George; and siblings, Mary Laas, Elaine Bacon, Shirley Clanton, Fern Bledsoe and Kay Lebert.

Visitation will be held at Ryan Mortuary in Salina from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22nd.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23rd at Ryan Mortuary.

Burial will follow at Bavaria Cemetery.  Memorials are designated to the Love Chloe Foundation or the Bavaria Cemetery, care of Ryan Mortuary.
