Joan Elizabeth (Heina) Johnson

Joan Elizabeth (Heina) Johnson, 71, of Salina, gained her angel wings August 9, 2022.  She was born June 24, 1951, in Belleville, to Ernest J. and Lillian E. (Bertram) Heina.  After graduating Belleville High School, she studied at Marymount College.  She also earned her certificate at cosmetology school.  She worked for USPS and retired after 30 years of service.  After retirement, her and Don enjoyed spending winters at their second home in San Tan Valley, Arizona.  She enjoyed bargain hunting at garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, and entering car shows with Don.

Joan leaves behind her loving husband of 36 years, Don, of the home; son, William E Muehlberg, stepson, Craig Johnson; stepdaughter, Staci Carson; grandchildren, William Jr. (Veronica), Caleb, Christian (Kourtney), Alex, and Alisa; great-grandchildren, William III and Brooklyn; brothers, Ernest V. (Carol) Heina and Robert P. (Bernadette) Heina; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, at Ryan Mortuary.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, at Ryan Mortuary with Fr. Steve Heina, as officiant.  Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or American Cancer Society, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina, Kansas 67401.
