John Myles Tower III

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John Myles Tower III, age 88, on June 12, 2026, in Salina. He was born on November 22, 1937, to John and Rose Tower in Worcester, MA.

John was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Rose Tower: daughters Latina Tower and Jacqueline Ann Summers; sisters Linda Lranger and Janet Lannoli; brothers Alfred Tower and Raymond Tower; grandsons Gabe Ruiz and Marcus Ruiz. Spouses, Sondra Tower and Dixie Lee Tower.

Later in life John married Carmen Palmer-Tower, who passed December 12, 2022. She shared his love of music, travel, and discovering great places to eat. Together, they enjoyed many adventures and creating lasting memories with Carmen’s family.

John is survived by his daughters, Doreen Lantz (Mark), Denise Jett (Kirk), Mary Tower (Richard), and Sabrina Lawrence (Chris); his sons, Jeral Robinson (Donna), John Tower, Tony Robinson (Punky), Michael Tower; and sister, Eleanor Gratton (Norman). He also leaves behind a large and loving family that includes more than 72 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He enlisted in 1955 and served until his retirement on November 1, 1975, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. During his Military career, he was stationed in Japan, Bermuda, and various locations throughout the United States.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, John worked in Construction and later for Thermoflex. Outside of work, one of his greatest passions was music and dancing. He especially enjoyed traveling throughout Kansas to attend Jolly Mixer dances, where he made many friends and created cherished memories.

John will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to service, and the joy he found in music, dancing, and spending time with those he loved.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m., Wednesday June 17, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary,137 N 8th St, Salina, KS.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday June 18, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary 137 N 8th St, Salina, KS 67401, with a burial to follow at Gypsum Hill in Salina KS. After the burial, there will be a luncheon at the Carver Center, 315 N 2nd St, Salina, KS.
