Joyce M. Schmidt, 86, died Monday, November 4, 2024, at her home. She was born January 9, 1938 in Logan, KS, the daughter of Fred and Nola Marie (Paramore) McClellan. She was the owner and operator of Stardust Trophy with her husband, LeRoy for 30 years.
Joyce loved family and valued time spent with them. She was a cub Scout Den Mother for her 2 boys and loved shopping trips with her two girls. She spent countless hours doing hand work; stitching, crocheting and knitting. She loved and cared for many house pets through out her life and loved her two beautiful homes and all the antiques they were filled with. She and Leroy took many trips overseas and spent winters down in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Janice Calvert and a brother, Laurel McClellan.
She is survived by her daughters; Linnea King and Leah (Gary) Jayne, both of Salina; her sons, Wendell (Valorie) and Waldeen (Melinda) Schmidt and a sister, Janene Schneider. There are seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Ryan Mortuary, Salina at 10:30 am Friday, November 8, 2024. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Friends may call at Ryan Mortuary from 4 until 8 pm on Thursday, where the family will be present from 5 until 7 pm that evening.
