Karolyn Marie Breneman passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at the age of 75, two days shy of 76 at Salina Regional Health Center. Karolyn was born October 6, 1945 to Kenneth “Bud” and Arlita Akers in Hays, Kansas. She attended Hays High School, Fort Hays State University and Salina Beauty Academy. She married the love of her life, her Cowboy, Art Breneman on January 31, 1965 in Culver, Kansas. To this union were born 3 children, Monty (Debbie) Breneman of Lincoln, Dean Breneman of Park City and Amy (David) Thompson of Salina. She was so proud of all 10 of her grandchildren Tyler, Kyle, Mikayla, Cory and Kristy Breneman, Faith Wolf, Cheyenne, Marius, David and Micah Thompson and 1 great-grandson Jeremiah Thompson.
Karolyn’s working years included positions as a hair dresser, night transit at a bank, a cook and bus driver for Ell-Saline High School and Happy Corner Grade School, a secretary for Farm Bureau and retired as an Administrative Assistant from Riggs Engineering in Lindsborg, Kansas.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandson, sister, Donna Johns and brothers Bob (Bobby) Akers and Jim (Jan) Akers.
Services will be held at Ryan Mortuary in Salina on Friday October 8th at 10 a.m. Private inurnment will be with family at a later date.
