Layton Leon Walters

Layton Leon Walters was born on Jan 10th 1939 in Densmore, KS. and passed away at the age of 85 on Oct 19th, 2024 in Salina, KS.  He was the son of Ray and Mary Walters.  He lived in Northwestern Kansas most of His life, spending the last 2 years in Salina.  

Layton is survived by his children Tammy (Stuart) Hottle, Chuck (Paula) Walters and Scott (Linda) Walters. He is also survived by his wife of 30 years Mary and his sister Barbara. Layton had 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded indeath by his parents, his brother Gene and granddaughter Marisa.

Layton was a Farmer/Rancher. He enjoyed being outside and at work. He spent his later years in Kirwin, KS.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

We would like to thank the caregivers at Pinnacle Park for the care and support they provided.  Layton was loved by many and he will be greatly missed.

A memorial will be held later, and his final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Phillipsburg, KS.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ryan Mortuary in Salina, KS. Any donations can be made to the Kirwin Volunteer Fire Dept.
