Mary Ellen (Reid) Higby

Mary Ellen Higby, 70, of Salina, Kan., passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021. She was born on May 9, 1951, in Salina to Harold and Felicia (Sander) Reid.

Mary Ellen graduated from Salina High School. After high school, traveling abroad, and staying in Denver, she eventually came back to Salina where she met her husband. Mary Ellen and Clinton were married at Sacred Heart Cathedral in 1976.

Mary Ellen is survived by her devoted husband, Clinton Higby; daughter, Jennifer Frank; sister, Sylvia; and brothers, Tom, and Jim. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Anthony; nephew, Randy; and nieces, Kathryn, and Lisa.

Mary Ellen loved to tell stories and would keep others laughing with her boisterous enthusiasm. She enjoyed dining out and socializing with friends and family. She always had gifts to give, be it her favorite waitstaff, salon, or someone she just met.

Services will be Monday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
