Obituary
Mary Ellen Maxey, age 87, died on April 17, 2023, in her home in Salina, Kansas.
She was born on her parent’s farm at Lost Springs, Kansas, in Morris County on September 25, 1936, to Isaac and Nettie Bergen. She lived with her parents until 1950 when she moved to Herrington, Kansas.
She attended school in Burdick, Kansas, graduating from High School in 1956. In 1979 she moved to Salina, working at Marymount College and the Best Western Hotel.
She married Benjamin Franklin Ford November 6, 1970. Benjamin died July 17, 1979. Then she married Gaylord Maxey June 26, 1987. Gaylord died November 16, 1994.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Benjamin Franklin Ford, and Gaylord Lee Maxey; her parents, Isaac, and Nettie Bergen; two half-sisters, Mada McClain and Caroline Banks; and one half-brother, Howard Bergen.
Graveside service at Banner Cemetery, Elmo, Kansas, on Monday April 24th at 10:00 a.m.
