Michael Ray Jensen, 69, of Gypsum, Kan., passed away Friday, January 24, 2025. He was born on January 20, 1956, in Salina, Kan., to Harold and Betty (Laas) Jensen.
Michael grew up on family farms in Bavaria and Brookville, Kan., graduating from Ell-Saline High School and Salina Vo-Tech. He worked for Phillips Lighting in Salina for over 20 years and was a lifelong farmer and rancher. You would often find him in his spare time working on projects at the farm or helping out a neighbor.
Michael is survived by his children, Joshua Jensen, Jessie Jensen, Jaley Walter (Geoff), and Justin Jensen; grandson, Geoffery Keaton Walter; mother of his children, Joy Fox; and sisters, Danette Toone and Teresa Swisher (John).
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Mentor United Methodist Church, 616 E Mentor Rd, Mentor, KS 67416.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Michael’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, made directly to St. Jude or care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
