Nancy Louise (Gentry) Jaquay

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Nancy Louise Jaquay on May 11, 2025 at the age of 73.  Born on September 1, 1951, to Edgar Max and Mary Ann (Roesner) Gentry.  Nancy brought warmth, wisdom, and love into the lives of all who knew her.

Nancy was a woman of strength, courage, and independence. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met, offering kindness and love with an open heart. Her sharp wit and joyful spirit brought light, even during life’s most difficult moments. Her unwavering determination and persistence were an inspiration to all.

Nancy was richly blessed throughout her life. She had a gift with words and a deep love for writing poetry and children’s stories. A talented baker, her cinnamon rolls were a beloved local favorite. A devoted member of Sacred Heart Cathedral, she cherished her faith deeply. Above all, Nancy was an extraordinary mother—her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely.

She is survived by her beloved children: Kevin Jaquay, Patrick Jaquay and his wife Sara, Michael Jaquay and his wife Tina, Gregory Jaquay and his wife Kat, Jeffery Jaquay, and Rebecca Bulava; and her grandchildren: Sarah Jaquay-Bulava, AJ Jaquay, Alex Bulava, Ben Jaquay, Emma Bulava, and Oliver Jaquay. In addition she leaves behind her sisters, Rosemary Woerner and Marilyn Tuma; nephews and nieces, Jonathan and Jeannie Woerner, Bethanne Fishburn, Brian and Katie Woerner, Audrey Woerner and Sean Finan, and Keith and Amanda Woerner; aunts Charlene Roesner and Norma Roesner; and numerous cousins.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary Ann Gentry and Edgar Max Gentry, brothers in law Steven Woerner and Charlie Tuma.

A visitation will be 4-8 pm Thursday, May 29 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, with rosary and vigil to begin at 6:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be 10 am Friday, May 30, 2025 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, with interment will be 1 pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to Nancy Jaquay Memorial Fund to honor her legacy and support the care and education of children.
