Patricia Tomlins Obituary

Patricia Mae Tomlins, 94, passed away on February 7, 2026, in Salina, Kansas. Born on June 24, 1931, to William Aubrey Singleton and Marjorie Ella McMath in Dermott, Arkansas. Her family lived in Arkansas until she was a freshman in high school when the family moved to Wellington, Kansas where she graduated from high school in 1949. 

She was married to James “Bud” Tomlins from 1949 to 1974 and together they had two sons, Byron and Scott. She was married to William (Bill) Billau from 1977 to 1992. 

Pat went back to work as a secretary for Jack Parr Associates and Evans Grain Company when her children were older. In 1992 Evans Grain closed and she went to work in the education department for Consumer Credit Counseling Services until she retired in 1997. 

Pat was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church where she served as an ordained Elder and a longtime member of the Evangelism Committee. She was a lifetime member of Presbyterian women where she served as Moderator and Circle Leader. She was Skipper for Clipper Mariners and served as Co-Admiral of the Sunrise Ship. She also volunteered for several years as Coordinator for the Red Cross Blood Mobile Canteen. 

She also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Family Hope Center Board. In 1997, she received the Super Senior Award for church services. 

Pat moved to Salina Presbyterian Manor in 2018, where she has been active in the life of the Manor by volunteering as coordinator of Food Bank donations, Manor Employees Christmas Fund Committee, and First Floor Representative to the Residents Council. 

Pat is survived by her two sons, Dr. Byron Tomlins (Paula), Topeka, KS, and Scott Tomlins, Salina, KS; grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Tomlins (Heidi Prockish), Topeka, KS, Carly Showman (Shawn), Lawrence, KS, Marisa Shadwick (Will), Kansas City, MO, Emily Tomlins (Adam Campbell), Liberty, MO, Kate Murray (Josh), Salina, KS, Deagan Tomlins (Alyssa Wildcat), Moore, OK; great grandchildren, Jude and Abigail Murray, Coy Campbell, Fred Showman, Grayson, Avery, Addison Tomlins and Ivy Linabary. Pat is also survived by her sister, Billie Curry, Hot Springs, AR; nephew, Dr. Andy Curry; and niece, Katie Carter, Texarkana, AR. 

There will be a celebration of her life at Sunrise Presbyterian Church on February 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sunrise Presbyterian Church, CASTLE program at Sunrise or Salina Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
