Phyllis (Skyllberg) Unruh

Phyllis (Skyllberg) Unruh passed away on May 9, 2026.

She was born on September 23, 1936, in Clyde, Kansas, to Mabel and Carl Skyllberg.

Phyllis graduated from Clyde High School and attended business school in Salina, Kansas. She enjoyed a long career as a secretary and retired in 2003.

She married Dale Unruh on May 4, 1958. Together they had three children: Dala, Dewayne, and Brian.

Phyllis enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was also talented in many crafts, including cross-stitching and embroidery.

After Dale passed away in 1979, Phyllis began square dancing once her sons were grown. Through square dancing, she met Verle Burrows, and together they spent many years traveling the country, going on cruises, enjoying life, and square dancing. Verle passed away in 2011.

Phyllis was preceded in death by many family members and friends.

She is survived by her children, Dala, Dewayne, and Brian; her grandchildren, Joel, Jordan, Brittany, and Annie; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, also at Ryan Mortuary.
