Dick was a graduate from Stockton High School in 1960. Dick lived on the family farm in Stockton and moved to Salina where he worked and retired from Beechcraft/Raytheon. After retirement, he worked for Parks and Recreation doing what he loved; being outside and doing yard work. Dick always had the nicest yard on the block. Dick was loved and adored by his children, but his greatest love was his grandchildren. He loved going to their sporting and school events. Dick loved people; he never knew a stranger. No matter where he traveled, he always ran into someone he knew. He was the life of every party and entertained everyone at the family reunions. He was loved by so many friends. On March 27, 1977, Dick married Judie in Salina.

He is survived by his wife, Judie; daughters Kisha Mullins (Jeff), of Salina, Shelly Johnson (Jeff), of Phillipsburg, sons; Shawn Sweat (Tracy), of McPherson, Kyle Deckert, of Tescott; grandchildren; Kiera, Logan, Michael, Caleb, Maggie, Melissa, Jake, Ashley, Andrea, Zach, Devin, Jerzee, Vann and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Karroll Kirk, Hutchinson, brothers, Jack (Nola) of Plainville and James (Judy) of Hutchinson.
