Robert “Bob” Willis Northcutt (Papa) passed away Jan. 2, 2026, at his home in Salina, KS, surrounded by family. He was born Sept. 29, 1950, in Wichita, KS, to Dewey and Eva Northcutt and grew up with three brothers. On June 10, 1978, he married Joy Gale DeWitt, the love of his life. As their family grew, they enjoyed memories made with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They also cared for Joy’s mother, Billie, for nearly 20 years in their home.
Bob spent his entire 44-year career in the highway asphalt industry, retiring as the plant manager for Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions in 2021. He also served the community with the Saline County Mounted Patrol & Rescue Squad. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, target shooting, dirt track racing, and cooking, and enjoyed sharing these hobbies with his family. In his later years, he grew to love traveling, especially to historical monuments and national parks. Bob also spent many hours fishing with his brother, Rodnie Dean, enjoying the solitude of nature. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, all of whom were with him in his final days.
Survivors include his brothers, Rodnie Dean (Kathleen) and Ed; his children, Rob “Willie” (Kelly) of Nashville, TN; Sandra Williams of Topeka, KS; Adam (Kristi) of Lindsborg, KS; and Billy (Beth) of Salina, KS; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joy; and his brother, Kenny.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, Jan. 8, from 5-7 p.m. and a memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m., both at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St. Burial will follow the service at Brookville Cemetery.
