Shirley R. (Upshaw) Harper

SALINA, KS - Shirley R. Harper, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 26, 2023, at 10:02 pm at Kenwood Nursing Home surrounded by family and lots of love. Shirley was born in Junction City, Kansas on December 8, 1948, to Kermit and Sadie Upshaw.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert Harper. Her siblings, Gary Upshaw, Jeanne DiaAmicis, Mary Ann Furgye, Patty Duncan, and Richard Upshaw. Her children, Richard Blevins Jr, Barbara Frybarger, Katherine Dreher and Edee Blevins-Carter. Her grandchildren, Justin Harrison, Jordan Blevins, Jasmine Blevins, Amanda Adams, Jacob Adams and unborn grandson, Adam Blevins. Her loving Chihuahua Bandit.

She leaves many family members including several cousins, nieces and nephews and great grandchildren to treasure memories.

Shirley was a loving mother to all who needed her and was loved by many. She loved her family very much and Elvis Presley. She loved God and all his creations. She loved to laugh and enjoyed her life.

Many thanks to the staff at Kenwood Nursing Home for making her comfortable and sharing friendships.  Our family is forever grateful.

A celebration of life viewing will be held at Ryan Mortuary on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be at Ryan Mortuary Thursday, May 4, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m. followed by laying to rest service at Roselawn directly following.
