Sue (Franklin) Herrman

Sue Herrman, age 74, died Saturday, April 22, 2023, at her home.  She was born September 25, 1948, in Wichita, KS, to Verne Stiles and Margaret Alice (McClenahan) Franklin.

Sue spent most of her career working for Schwan’s in various locations before settling in Salina, where she eventually retired from the company.  She loved to spend time with family, friends, and her dogs.  Her smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a brother, Walter S. Rives Jr. and sister-in-law, Darlene Rives of Chillicothe, MO.  Nieces and Nephews, Walter S. Rives III and wife Marietta of Des Moines, IA; Angela D. Hibner of Chillicothe, MO; Teresa Rains and husband Rob; Benjamin Franklin and wife Robin; Travis Franklin and wife Dana, all of Murfreesboro, TN; Joanna Rives and Austin Appleby of Port Hadlock, WA.  Her secondary family, Shirley Burt; Kris and Kevin Rogers and family; Amy Rundell and family; Patty Werth and family; and Janet McGrew and family.

She was preceded in death by her lifelong partner, Milton A. “Corkie” Youngdahl; her parents; brother, William Grant Rives; brother and sister-in-law, Clayton “Bruce” and Karen Franklin; and sister-in-law, Beverly Franklin.

Funeral services will be at Ryan Mortuary, Thursday April 27th at 10:00 am with burial following at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.  Please dress casually, Sue would appreciate jeans.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Salina Animal Shelter or Tammy Walker Cancer Center in care of Ryan Mortuary.
