Teresa Nelson Obituary

Teresa Kaye Nelson was born Sunday, January 26, 1969 in Leavenworth, Kansas. She died August 12, 2024 after a Valorous fight with cancer. Teresa was married to John Nelson August 26, 1988. She was the mother of two boys David and Jacob, and loving mother-in-law to Jessica Janzen and Jessica Nelson. The title she was most proud to attain was Grandma to baby Maria, born on February 22, 2024. She had a strong bond with her two sisters Michelle and Tracy, and she loved her annual sister weekend.

Teresa's career started where John and her first met at Dillons Grocery Store in 1987 Shawnee, Kansas. The culmination of her work experience progressed to her current position as a Cardiac Sonographer at Salina Regional Health Center. Teresa was a true Beauty, Beautiful Soul, and had a Beautiful attitude about life. Her superhuman power was "Serving, Loving, Lifting, Forgiving" others to the betterment of us all.

Teresa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Virginia Gabrick; mother, Carylon Lee (Gabrick). She is survived by her husband, John Nelson; sons, David and Jacob Nelson; daughters-in-law, Jessica Janzen and Jessica Nelson; granddaughter, Maria Luisa Nelson; and sisters, Michelle Schaar and Tracy Magaha.

Visitation will be 2-6:30 p.m. Friday, August 16th, at Sacred Heart Cathedral with the vigil at 4 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17th, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, with Fr. John Schmeidler as celebrant.  Burial will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
