Wilma A. McFadden, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Salina Regional Medical Center. Wilma was born February 21, 1934, to John and Amelia Denk in Grainfield, Kansas. She attended Grainfield (now Wheatland) High School. She worked for St. John’s Hospital and Asbury/Salina Regional Medical Center her entire career in Medical Records. She married her husband Wayne, a U.S. Air Force Air Traffic Controller, after meeting at Schilling Air Force Base in 1960.
Wilma is survived by her two children; Craig (Shelle) of Wichita Falls, TX; Ellen of Salina, KS; sisters, Mary Wells of McKinney, TX.; Louise Whitehead of Lawrenceville, GA.; Berniece Grantham of Grenada, MS.; Pauline Barley of Colorado Springs, CO.; 3 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Amelia; husband Wayne; brothers Leonard, Ralph, and Alvin; sister Albertina Werth.
Burial will be held at Grainfield Cemetery at a later date.
