Mr. Tonne was born April 8, 1937, at Mitchell County. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard. He also worked for Crestwood.

Mr. Tonne was preceded in death by a son, Terry, in 1995 and his parents Emil and Deloria Tonne.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two sons, Arden and wife Krista of Ashland and Byron of Salina; a daughter, Ronda Blatt and husband Geoffrey of Overland Park; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda of Salina; a step-son, Craig Bishop of Hutchinson, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Teri Price of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Larry of Tipton; and 12 grandchildren, Kayla and Faith of Ashland, Eric, Alexandra, Danielle and Andrea Blatt of Overland Park, Tera, Curtis and Jessica of Salina, Emily Henry and Hunter Tonne of Salina and James Price of Kansas City.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
