WESTMINISTER, CO -- Quintin A. Applequist, 85, Westminister, died Sunday, October 31, 2004. Mr. Applequist was born March 2, 1919 near Smolan, KS. He was the founder and President of Roberts Industries Inc. in Salina for over 32 years, retiring in 1978. After retirement Mr. Applequist had many interests in the Lindsborg, KS area, including the Swedish Country Inn and the REO Auto Museum. He was a member of the First Covenant Church, Salina where he was past chairman. The Stillwater Community Church of Grand Lake Co. the Sunflower Lions Club and the Gridiron Club both of Salina. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the following: North Park University, Chicago, Ill.; Evangelical Covenant Church of America, Chicago, Ill; Bank IV of Salina, Presbyterian Manor and the former Asbury Hospital, both of Salina, KS. He is survived by his wife Florence L. Applequist of the home; two sons, Roy E. Applequist of Salina, KS and Gene M. Applequist of Grand Lake, CO; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the First Covenant Church, 2625 E. Magnolia, Road Salina. Burial will be in the Mission Hills Cemetery, Smolan, KS. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Ryan Mortuary 137 North Eighth St. Salina, where the family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Amundsen Educational Center of Soldotna, Alaska. |
