Mrs. Colaw was born Betty Ann Friend on Aug. 24, 1939, in Fredonia. She was secretary for First Church of the Nazarene, Salina. She received an associate of arts degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 1962 and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

She married N. Rene Colaw on Dec. 31, 1961, in Fredonia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles H. Friend Jr.; and two sisters, Susan Elaine Halgedahl and Martha Rae Elsberry.

Survivors include her husband, N. Rene Colaw of the home; a son, Darrel and wife Sarah of McPherson; two daughters, Shari Sauer and husband Shannon of Sterling and Sheila Bee and husband James M., of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her mother, Anabell Friend of Fredonia; two brothers, Billie Friend and wife Esther of Fredonia and Larry Friend and wife Betty of Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Ruth Evelyn Rovenstine and husband Loren and Rita Phillippe and husband Joe, all of Bartlesville, Okla.; and nine grandchildren, Alex, Jocie, Hailey and Grace Ann Colaw, Grant, Reed and Ann-Renee Sauer and Cassidy Ann and Morgan Bee.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio, Salina. Private burial will be in McPherson City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, where the family will receive friends.
