Mr. Cummings was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Holton. He was a janitor for Nicholl Hall National Guard in Salina.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine C. of the home; three sons, Wayne D. of Seattle, Daniel F. of Belleville, Ill., and Sean A. of Lawrence; two daughters, D. Rose Bisnette of Downs and Erica L. Cummings of the home; five stepdaughters, Kimberly Staffordruark, Terri J. Rieder, Debra Stafford and Tonya Stafford, all of Wichita, and Christina Reid of Minneapolis; seven brothers, Pat of Hibbing, Minn., Lawrence of Newport News, Va., Joe of Worthington, Minn., Bill of Eudora, Paul of Olathe, Steve of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Mike of El Paso, Texas; three sisters, Barbara Zardhuif of Galena, Md., Ann VanBlaircon of Carbondale and Marilyn Heimos of Grants Pass, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Cremation will follow the service. A private inurnment will be at a later date in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Erica L. Cummings Educational Fund, in care of the family.
