Mrs. Curtis was born Jeannette M. Gorham on March 31, 1957, in Washington D.C. She was an apostle with the Mt. Zion Gospel Church, Salina.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Gorham, and a brother, Jerry Gorham.

Survivors include her husband, John Curtis Jr. of Salina; her father, James W. Gorham of Washington D.C.; two daughters, Sambrosia Curtis of Salina and Rosalena Curtis of Enterprise, Ga.; four sons, Alonzo Ray Curtis of Denver and James Waddell, Duncan Renaldo, John W., III and Joshua K., all of Salina; two brothers, James W. and Kenny Gorham, both of Washington D.C.; two sisters, Kathy Gorham of Washington D.C. and Vashti Gorham of Vauxhall, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday outside at the Mt. Zion Church, 1004 N. Santa Fe, Salina 67401, or in case of rain, the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 304 W. Grand, Salina 67401. Burial will be in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
