Mr. DeHerrera was born Oct. 28, 1956, in Monte Vista, Colo. He managed McDonald's, J.C.'s and The Golden Corral Restaurants, all in Salina.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn M., of Salina; two sons, Eric R. of Salina and James W. Jr. of the home; four daughters, Stacy M. DeHerrera, Angie M. Finch and Jami N. DeHerrera, all of Salina, and Taylor D. DeHerrera of the home; his parents, Eddie R. and V. Mayo DeHerrera of Salina; four brothers, Eddie R. III and Daniel E., both of Salina, Roger D. of Topeka and Vernon of South Bend, Ind.; three sisters, L. Darlene Pena of Vail, Colo., Lillian K. DeHerrera of Salina and Vivian M. Jones of Saguache, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
