Harold Fraizer
August 8, 1927 - May 7, 2004

Harold Fraizer, 76, Salina, died Friday, May 7, 2004.

Mr. Fraizer was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Atchison. He was a 1945 graduate of Salina High School and received a bachelor's degree from Kansas Wesleyan University and a master's degree from Emporia State University. He was an elementary school principal in Culver and Tescott and lower school director for St. John's Military School. He had served as summer athletic director for Salina Recreation Commission and as quality control officer for the city of Salina Schilling Development Project.

He was an instructor for YMCA baseball clinics and coached for American Legion, Babe Ruth and Salina Recreation Commission baseball programs and served as coordinator for Evans Grain baseball programs. He was a past president of Camp Wood YMCA, a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, a former chairman of the Mayor's Committee for the Bill Burke Baseball Complex and Special Olympics volunteer. He was a member of American Rose Society, Phi Delta Kappa, Pioneer Lake and the American Heart Association. He was an honorary colonel at St. John's Military School and a master angler with the Kansas Forestry and Fish Commission. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and member of the U.S. Naval Reserve.

He married the former Sandy Lee Pence on Dec. 20, 1973, in Armstrong Memorial Chapel of St. John the Evangelist, on the grounds of St. John's Military School.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Salina; a brother, S. Scott of Wichita; his beloved pets, Maggie and Simon; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. LeRoy Pralle officiating.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina, Christ the King Lutheran Church Endowment, Salina Regional Health Center Foundation and YMCA Camp Wood.

There will be no visitation.
