Garland F. Henson
August 26, 1909 - February 28, 2004

Garland F. Henson, 94, of Salina, KS, formerly of Hutchinson, died Sunday, March 28, 2004 at Salina.

Mr. Henson was born August 26, 1909 at Mansfield, MO. He moved from Missouri to Nickerson, KS as a child. He was the youngest of 7 children of Jonathan and Julia Henson.

Garland met Maxine Guinn at Emporia State College, and they married in October 1934. Maxine died on December 22, 1982. Garland remarried in 1984 to Evelyn Rayburn. She also precedes him in death on Feb. 22, 2003.

Gar or Brownie, as he was called, owned and operated Henson Dairy Supply for 25 years in Hutchinson, KS, and retired in 1974, with his wife Maxine.

He was a member of the Hutchinson Rotary Club, Genealogy Society, SCORE, Midian Shrine Temple, and the First Baptist Church and had served on the Board of the Hutchinson Community College.

He is survived by his son Bob and wife Linda Henson of Salina, KS. Daughter Susan and husband Stu Forney of Fort Collins, CO. His Grandchildren, Missy Hughes, Mark Henson, Scott Forney and Steve Forney were his pride and joy. He is also survived by 8 Great grandchildren. And one sister, Lela Wainner of Hutchinson, KS.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday at the Greenwood Cemetery Newton, KS. Memorials are suggested to the Salina Presbyterian Manor. Ryan Mortuary 137 North Eighth St. Salina, KS is handling arrangements.
