BUCHANAN, Mich. -- Helena J. Holke, 94, Buchanan, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004. Mrs. Holke was born Helena J. Pestinger on July 3, 1909, in Tipton. She was married to Norman N. Holke on May 10, 1934, at Concordia. She was a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ladies Elks, St. John's Hospital Auxiliary and past president of Sacred Heart Ladies Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, in 1982. Survivors include a son, Steven D. of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Mary L. Napier of Atlanta and Norma S. Uhran of Granger, Ind.; two sisters, Irene Shea of Kansas City, Mo., and Corolyn Powell of Camarillo, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina or Sacred Heart Junior and Senior School Endowment Fund. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. |
