Mrs. Oberndorfer was born Esther S. Benson in Denmark, KS on October 22, 1906. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Oberndorfer in 1984.

She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Lewandowski and husband John of Salina and Marilyn Griffin and husband Warren of Salina; four grandchildren, Rick Lewandowski, Kim McBride and Jeffery and Bryan Griffin; and six great-grandchildren, Michael and Erin Lewandowski and Jara, Allison, Ashlyn and Abbey Griffin.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina with Rev. Robert Schaedel and Rev. Charles Adams officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Sylvan Grove Cemetery, Sylvan Grove, KS.

Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Hour Ministries of the Trinity Lutheran Church Expansion Fund or Kitchen Fund.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
