Mrs. Tripp was born Alma E. Kornmeyer on Dec. 20, 1908, in rural Russell County. She taught school in Russell County, worked for the Ideal Cleaners in Salina and sewed custom drapery.

Her husband, H. Leroy Tripp, died in 1990.

Survivors include a son, Robert Tripp and wife Karen of Walsenburg, Colo.; a daughter, Joyce Whelchel and husband Roger of Solomon; seven grandchildren, Kevin and Nathan Whelchel of Solomon, Brenda Whelchel of Topeka, Kala Wood of Sanford, N.C., Mark Tripp of Phoenix, Preston Tripp of Duluth, Minn., and Travis Tripp of Fort Collins, Colo.; and six great-grandchildren, Kate, Ryan and Keith Whelchel of Solomon, Trenton and Drew Wood of Sanford and Winn Tripp of Sitka, Alaska.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Grand Center Cemetery, Waldo.

Memorials may be made to Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
