Merle E. Youngland, 75, Salina, died Monday, August 9, 2004. Mr. Youngland was born June 9, 1929, in Loup City, Neb. He was an operations manager for Brown Welding Supply, Salina. He had worked for Jim's Formal Wear and Rickel Manufacturing and had owned Texaco service stations in Salina. Mr. Youngland was a member of Masonic Blue Lodge No. 60, was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and an Isis Shrine Temple member. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, in 2002; his parents, Arthur and Grace (Newton) Youngland; and a brother, Delavin Youngland. Survivors include two daughters, Tammy and husband Don Wood of Tulsa, Okla., and Debbie and husband David Skinner of McDonough, Ga.; a brother, Harold and wife Dorine Youngland of York, Neb.; four grandchildren, Brad and Colby Skinner, both of McDonough, Ga., and Ryan and Shelby Wood, both of Tulsa, Okla. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grand Island City Cemetery, Grand Island, Neb. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. There will be no visitation.
