Mr. Baird was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Luray. He was the owner and operator of Bachelors Inn, Salina, for 28 years. He also had worked for Sunbeam Bakery and was a golfer and gardener.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles, in 1986.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee, of Salina; a son, Randy and companion Mari Anna Maginness of Salina; a stepson, Ronald W. Goodwin and wife Bonnie of Salina; a daughter, Jeanie Bragg and husband Michael of Virginia; a stepdaughter, Kay Ellen Olson and husband Larry of Salina; two grandsons, Jason and Justin Baird; four stepgrandsons, Shawn Olson, James and Jason Goodwin and Ronald Goodwin Jr.; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Luray City Cemetery.
