Mr. Beck was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Cadwell, Ga. He was a tower technician with the Kansas Department of Transportation for 34 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of Salina American Legion and a lifetime member of Lakewood (Colo.) American Legion and VFW.

He married Beverly Amos on March 1, 1947, in Goodland.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of the home; a son, Steven and wife Sudi of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Kay Charles of Salina and Sheryl Keiser and husband Leon of Coral Springs, Fla.; a brother, Kennon Beck and wife Mary of Eastman, Ga.; four sisters, Grace Peacock, Josephine Kirkley and Rita Sheffield and husband Needham, all of Eastman, Ga., and Maryann Deal and husband James of Dublin, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Amy Mannis of Orange Park, Fla., Tom Keiser of Fredericksburg, Va., Tim Keiser of Trinity, Fla., Steven Beck Jr. and Lance Beck, both of Tulsa, and Chris Charles and John Charles, both of Salina; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post 62, Salina.
